Spiritual Life Center presents Mystic Café First Ladies of Jazz Friday, May 3rd, 2024 Two separate shows at 4:30 & 7:30 p.m. Check in first show 4 p.m.; second show 6:45 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and wine bar 6-7:30 p.m. $45 ticket includes Hors d’oeuvres (menu below) Vivian Lee has three times been voted top local entertainer in Sacramento Magazine’s annual “Best of Sacramento” issue. Her unique style, and magical stage presence have been captivating sold out audiences for decades. Carol Manson is a passionate jazz, inspirational, and New Thought gospel vocalist who plays and prays with passion, conviction and a whole lot of fun! As an active governing member of Spiritual Life Center, Carol is a sponsor of this event. She has also served as former Vice President of the Sacramento Jazz Cooperative. Denise Anya relocated to Sacramento from Southern California in 2015. Denise delights and engages her audience, believing it is her calling to create music from the heart, to embrace, entertain, inspire, and uplift the human spirit wherever and whenever she can! These first ladies of jazz bring the timeless magic and mystique of great jazz as sung by the jazz greats. They will be accompanied by The Blue Skies Band – Chet Chwalik, piano & director; Dominique Salazar-Turner, bass; Jack Stanfill, drums; Russell Brown, guitar; Paula Mandella, piano. Carol Manson and local jazz artist Beth Duncan along with the Blue Skies Band play seasonal and straight ahead jazz favorites to jumpstart the holiday season! Let's get busy again this year... you know what we do! Straight-ahead jazz -- yeaaaasss! Then ..... and you know we have vocals and other madness performed by Carol Manson. Instrumentalists perform magic; they call themselves the Blue Skies Band (Russell Brown, guitar; Kerry Kashiwagi, bass; Courtney Fuego Miller, percussions, Darius Babazadeh, sax & clarinet; and Chet Chwalik, Music Director on piano & trumpet. Other talented music friends including protege Tyler Jenkins on trumpet, will also join us. Jazz crooner Bruce Kelly will be performing with us making for a great evening of old school jazz standards! Cooking with jazz will be back with some food surprises by Chef Emmitt and we’ll have a variety of beverages....alcohol and non-alcohol. It's gonna be a hot groove...don't miss it!
